Stop Offshoring

Here's a relatively recent article about offshoring: Local High-Tech Workers Deal With New Reality. Much of what's in the article has been said in many other articles in the past. However, one section caught my eye:

College students today are accustomed to hearing about massive layoffs. To prepare them, the CSU business school brings in alumni and mentors who have successfully rebounded from layoffs or company closures.

I wasn't aware that we were teaching students the realities of offshoring. That's good. They need to understand what they're up against. It's sad that they have to face it so early in their careers, but the political and business leaders in the U.S. seem to care more about making money for themselves than the people who live in the same country as them.
